I’ve been playing limit poker now for almost 20 years, mainly $3-6 to $10-20 but as high as $30-60 when I used to play at the Commerce. I was also a professional poker dealer in California, but now, soon to be married, I have dropped back to playing 1 to 3 times per week from the consistent 6-7 days that I used to. I grew up in Northern California and have played them all up here, plus Southern California, Vegas, AC, Washington, Montana, and Mississippi. I’ve played hold ‘em, stud, pineapple, pitch-and-roll, whatever there is available that day.
I write this blog for one main reason. Since the explosion of no limit hold ‘em, everyone and their dog thinks they can just sit down, play cards, and win. But the only thing they see on TV or the online tournaments they play in is no limit and people pushing huge amounts [...]
